    Hi Andy,

In one of your previous newsletters you talked about AWeber. Can you explain a bit more about it, it functions and how you can use its functions.

How can this service be used in conduction with eBay and there newsletter service?

    Many thanks,
    Tim

    Hi Tim,

    Many Thanks for your question!

So, what is AWeber.com? To put it simply, it’s an online service offering you all the email marketing management tools you need to communicate with your leads and customers. AWeber is not the only one company offering similar service (for example – GetResponse.com), there are dozens of others out there – for small businesses as well as dedicated enterprise solutions. But AWeber is industry’s leader and one of the oldest companies offering these services.

    How it works.

It starts with a data collection from your customer, lead or simply website’s visitor. Usually you want to collect their first name & e-mail address but in special circumstances other data may be collected, such as city, country, telephone number and so on! Additional data is usually used in lead generation programs where a sales rep. would call back the lead and try to get a sale.

Once the data is collected, it’s stored in your AWeber account and you can effectively use it for various purposes, such as:

    •    Sending out a follow up e-mail, say 3 days after a purchase to ask whatever customer has received the order and everything is ok.
    •    Sending out special offers & newsletters.
    •    Conducting surveys.

So using a service like AWeber, you’ll be able to send out e-mails to hundreds or even thousands of people with a single click! You can also filter, categorize & prioritize leads by date added, geographic location, additional data etc.

Ok, sounds good but how do you add people to your list? AWeber offers a number of different options to add people on your contact list:

    •    Manually via Admin panel;
    •    Using a web form (simple HTML or Java script code you place on your website)
    •    Using an auto responder e-mail (person is added to list simply by sending an e-mail)

And here comes the answer to your question Tim – Aweber allows you to collect full name & e-mail address for all customers paying to your PayPal account. So, you can set it up in a way that every eBay customer is added to your mailing list (AWeber)! This way you can build customer list AND most importantly, keep in touch with them by sending out regular newsletters, special offers, new product announcements etc.

Just think about this – if you own a website, you can have hundreds of eager buyers visit your shop within few minutes! If you don’t have an online shop yet, still – you want to collect customer data and communicate with them! And once your shop is ready, send out an announcement to all your past customers and see sales rolling in almost instantly! How’s that sound?

Hope this answers your question Tim :-)
