    Hello Andrew,

I am Govind. I watched an add on Alibaba.com in that add most of branded companies products like Sony, Samsung, Nokia, Apple etc. at very low cost. When I sent mail through Alibaba.com to these companies in China, they sent me all branded companion’s price list. The price of the products are very low like, Nokia N8-$168. This available in India at $556 in retail market.

They also sent me their respective URL Address these r http://www.vanketrade.com, www.onlybestoffer.com etc. If all branded products are fake and not original, then how can they sell openly? Why one not take action against them?

I dilemma to trust or not. Plz send me valuable answer.

    Thanks
    Govind (India)

    Hi Govind,

    Thanks for your e-mail.

I’m glad that you have read some posts on my website and avoided a costly, costly mistake! It should be obvious now that you can’t source branded mobile phones from Mainland China for such ridiculously low prices. And as you can see, their websites are no longer active/registered, which means it was a classical scam scheme.

These scammers on Alibaba know that people like you are looking for top selling mobile phones, for cheap prices to re-sell on eBay or via offline channels. They know this and that’s why they build websites around such popular items, like:

    • Mobile Phones (Nokia, iPhone etc.)
    • Game consoles (PS3, XBox 360 etc.)
    • DJ electronics (Pioneer, Shure etc.)
    • Designer Clothing (Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Armani etc.)
    • Fragrances (Dior, Lacoste etc.)
    • Shoes (Nike Air etc.)
    • And so on!

If it’s from China, it’s FAKE! Do not even try to talk to Chinese suppliers promising you branded goods at rock bottom prices. There isn’t such a thing, period.

I don’t know whatever they were FREE or GOLD suppliers on Alibaba but in most cases, scammers use free profiles on Alibaba to advertise their websites. Then they take your money and you never hear from them again This can go on for weeks or even months, before someone reports them to Alibaba and their account is suspended.

Guess what happens next? They simply open new account and keep doing same thing!

But if you spot such a listing on Alibaba, use “Report Suspicious Activity” button on the product page to report scam operations to Alibaba.

Lastly, for good prices on mobile phones, I would personally look for a US based supplier in your situation. Use Google, yellow pages and directories to find companies dealing with international customers.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks,
    Andrew
