I’m just getting ready to launch my website and would like to know what’s the best way to get people onto my site?

Of course I know the mobile market is a massive flooded market, but I’m looking for a “niche” product which I can promote as the main selling point.

Thanks for your question.

I don’t know what kind of marketing budget you have for this but I guess it’s not much – preferably you would like to start off with FREE traffic, right? If that’s the case AND you are targeting a specific, niche product – your best bet would be to go with basic SEO strategy – as natural search traffic is FREE, highly targeted and works on “auto pilot”.

What I would do first is do some research using Google’s Keyword Tool – compile a list of keywords that are close related to product in question. Depending on the product, it could be 50-100 phrases/keywords or more.

Now, make sure your website is fully SEOed (pages with unique content, titles, images, meta etc.) – at least 10-20 pages. Make sure your website has a blog section.

Now, each day write 2 articles:

1. Article for your own blog (using one of the keywords from your list), 300 words long or so.

2. Article (again, using one keyword/phrase from your list in title, content – around 500 words long) for distribution across the net – places like Article directories, Hub Pages, Squidoo lenses, PR, Google Docs, Blogs, Wikipedia etc. etc. Make sure you link back not only to your home page but also inner pages and blog pages. Use different anchor text for links, using your website address, company name & keywords. Rotate them as frequently as possible.

Do this for 30 days – and let me know results!

By the end of 30 days you should have a steady amount of traffic coming in from Google, Yahoo & Bing search engines.
