I am setting up a leather import business in UK. We are importing leather wallets, leather purses, leather belts and leather clutches from INDIA. I have few questions which are as following :

1) What’s the import duty on all the leather products mentioned above?

2) What’s the procedure to get EORI number and the charges for it?

3) What will be the rent for a warehouse or the price if we want to buy it?

4) What are the logistic charges in UK?

Thanks for your questions, I’ll try to answer them one by one.

1) Import duty will vary from product to product. Please check out this handy tool to calculate import duty for various product groups:

2) EORI numbers are totally FREE to receive and instructions on how to get one are outlined in a recent EORI post here.

3) Again, Warehouse Rental/purchase prices will vary greatly based on:

* Location

* Size

* Quality

* Lease Term

* etc.

If you’re starting on a small scale, why not outsource order fulfillment altogether?
