Moving to the Next Level – What Can You Do?

    Hi Andrew!

I have been reading about you on The Wholesale Forum – I am British and have a tiny business in France selling clothing online.

Whilst I am making profit and things are going in the right direction, I’m finding things can be a bit slow and as I can’t really afford to lose money at this stage I am having to be extremely cautious about buying stock.

I’d really like to move things up to the next level, do you have any advice?

    Thanks,
    Anna, France

    Hi Anna,

    Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately you haven’t stated where do you sell online? Is it eBay, classified ads, your own website? That would help me to give you a more precise answer but anyway, here it goes -

If you’re like most online sellers, you’re making one fatal mistake – you think something is wrong with your overall concept, goods you sell, variety you offer, pricing etc. While improvements in these areas of your business will increase your revenue you’re most likely missing something way more important – TRAFFIC!

And this is totally understandable if you’re like any other entrepreneur out there – always full with new ideas! These ideas drive you away from some business basics and doesn’t help you in any way. They distract, they move you away from your goals.

I have seen many ugly websites, with old fashioned layouts, average picture quality etc. – making tens of thousands of $$$ in sales a month! Why? Because they get a lot of traffic! Sure, their conversion rates could be dramatically improved but still, they have a real, sustainable business because of traffic levels they receive.

I’m almost certain same applies to your situation – if you get 200 UVs (Unique Visitors) a day now, just imagine how much money you would make from 1000 UVs a day? And it has nothing to do with stock or anything else – it all comes down to TRAFFIC, potential customers and sales at the end of the day!

Whatever you’re selling on eBay or via your own website, I would start working really hard on multiplying your traffic levels – everything else will follow automatically!

Take a look at Traffic Generation category for more articles on this topic.

    Thanks,
    Andrew
